Auto DJ doesn't play random only but sequential?

MM 3 will play randomly a playlist but it appears MM4 plays each track one after another in the playlist.

This isn't right, is it?

Is the Playlist random? AutoDJ just follows the playlist order which it did in MediaMonkey 3 as well.

Thanks for replying but MM3 does play randomly. And now for the life of me its working correctly in MM4

Correction, MM4 still plays one after the other in order on my desktop and plays randomly on my laptop! Pickles!!!!!!!!!!

This seems to be Windows XP issue.

MM3 in XP works and randomly plays any playlist selected but MM4 in XP plays one after the other.
Otherwise MM4 works in Windows 7 okay.

If the source playlist is an auto=playlist then auto dj will play randomly.

Hagar I had the same issue with the upgrade to MMv4, auto DJ is working, but what was happening was the whole library was loading & showing in the play now list on a double click of a song, only when the last few songs played was when AutoDJ worked.
Solution go to "Tools/options - Player/Playback Rules" in the 'Play Now" Action: select "Clear list & play selected only" or "Play selected files only" you should be good to go

I'm glad I saw this thread, I had a similar problem and thought it was something to do with the new tabs. The Now Playing tab seemingly had a mind of its own, if I played one file from a playlist Now Playing filled with with rest, it was the setting you just described, so glad it's solved, thanks for coming back and posting about it
