Two Bugs: No Album Art and App Crashes

Post by gcoupe »

Just installed Media Monkey for W8 on my Windows 8 Pro 64bit system.

Two issues so far:

1) MM is not displaying any Album Art for Albums that have tracks in WMA Lossless format. These tracks all have Album Art embedded in them (by MediaMonkey, Desktop version), and the Album Folders also have Album Art stored as folder.jpg. All Albums are held on a WHS2011 server, and the root Music folder is defined as a Windows Library on the desktop. I have a few MP3 tracks and these ARE showing the Album Art.

2) MM crashes fairly frequently. It still hasn't completed scanning all the tracks, so it may be related to this operation. A typical entry in the Event Log is:

Faulting application name: MediaMonkey.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50fdc50c
Faulting module name: Windows.UI.Xaml.dll, version: 6.2.9200.16420, time stamp: 0x505a9ac7
Exception code: 0xc0000420
Fault offset: 0x006b9ff1

Faulting package full name: F9C317A9.MediaMonkey_1.0.1.25_x86__6npfwtawc6s18

Edited to add: MM has now finished scanning the library, but still crashing frequently with the same error.

Edit 2: This crash happens all the time. I can have the MM screen open, doing nothing with the App, and then the App crashes back to the Start Screen. Interestingly, the App is still running in the background - it appears in the list of running program thumbnails revealed from the left of the Start Screen. I can bring it back to the foreground, but after less than a minute, it will disappear again. Always with the same error.

Edit 3: The exact same error is also occurring on my ThinkPad Tablet 2, which is running the 32bit version of Windows 8 Pro.

Thanks, stability should be greatly improved in the next build.

Jiri - yes the stability is much improved, but it still crashes.

During a scan, I got:

Oh, and although this version does seem to be picking up Album Art, albums that already were scanned with the previous version are still showing without Album Art.

Do I have to delete the database and do a complete re-scan? If so, what's the best way to do this?

Thanks.
