About MediaMonkey for Android

Post by redeuxx »

It's awesome seeing this in development. Would love to see last.fm support though. Until then, I'll stay with the current version of MM.

Keep up the good work guys!

Now that I seem to have sync working well, this is my number one desire for MMA.

Its not an addon, its MMA being recognized as a media player by srobblers.
Every player out there has that functionality.

But yeah, lets give them a break.

Have a good start into 2013 all.

I tried the 3 big ones out there.
Official last.fm
Simple last.fm
scrobble droid

None of them recognize MMA

Yeah nothing happening there, hence the nudge :)

This *should* really be an easy fix, simply make MediaMonkey known to the Android OS as a Media Player.
Once that is done, external scrobblers will be able to identify the player.

I think that the only way to fix this using external scrobblers is to contact their devs and ask them to add support for MMA, there isn't anything like as system-wide support afaik.

Yes. Thanks Jiri.

Based on my research, small changes need to be made to either side (Scrobbler / Media Player).
I have contacted the developers of the app with reference to this forum post.

Hopefully once they enable MMA, the changes on your end should be minimal.

If you're taking votes on this, I'd like to see scrobbling through Scrobble Droid. We'd need the option to disable it when playing via UPnP though, because MMW already scrobbles those plays.
Remember when Last.fm had those cool imagegen charts for use in signatures?
