With the demise of Shoutcast (or sold to someone else) ..

Post by dtsig »

Is there any chance for the MM crew to create a server for broadcast on the net? dlna is good 'in house' but there is also a need for something out of house.

Don't know much about the subject, but have you looked at IceCast?

I agree I always loved IceCast better, but shoutcast will not die soon and may return when situation stabilize, till then you can always initiate station outside MMW http://www.shoutcast.com/

Thank you both. I had heard good things about Icecast but had used Shoutcast for years 24/7 up until a couple years ago when I had to stop the broadcast. Shoutcast was one of those pcs of sw that just ran once started which made live very nice. I will look into Icecast (while keeping an eye on shoutcast).
