configuration Sync Folder and the Filenames, Cover

Post by Guest »

Hello,

I use the newest Media MediaMonkey Beta 1.0.4.0217 with the Sync on my PC Version 4.1.0.1686.
I`m very happy to can Sync all my Music included Ratings und Playlists with my PC :D .

How is the configuration for the Sync Folder and the Filenames.
On my Smartphone copy the APP the Files in the Folder strorage/extSDCard/ “Music” and “Playlists”
I would like the same Filename and when is Possible Folders how my PC.

I have the Problem not all MP3 Files have Cover on the APP.
On my PC have all Files the cover.
I think the Problem is the APP use MP3-File and JPG`s for the Cover separate.
Please Fix this Problem an Read the imbedded Cover from the MP3 like the PC Version.

I would be pleased if you reply on this Question.

Sorry for may bad English.

You can set folder/filenames for media and Playlists in the Device Profile in MMW (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync).

@ Lowlander Thankyou for the tip!
Now I have the solution:

My mistake was is Sync via WLAN (WI-FI SYNC via UPnP) and I config the Portable Device “Public” You don`t need the Portable Device Profile “MMW” The name is addictive form your Android-Device.

When you connect via USB you can see the Name in the Windows Explorer or in MediaMonkey “Media Tree”.

For example configure Samsung Galaxy S3.

1) Connect via USB.
Image
Image
a) Now you see the Portable Device “GT-9300 - Phone” (or Samsung GT-I9300 - Internal storage) and “GT-9300 - Card” (or “Samsung GT-I9300 - External storage")
Attention! On my PC the Card an Phone are interchanges!!!!!
Open the Directory Folder and you can check if the Folders are from your ext. SD Card.
When it`s wrong click with the right Mouse on “Rename” an change it to the right Name!
Image

2) Open Tools->Options…
Image

a) Click on “GT-9300 - Card” (you can enable “Show” an See the Device in MediaMonkey for Windows)
Image

b) Click on “Configure …” an activate the Button “Grant remote Sync / access rights to the Media Monkey Library”
Image

3) Open Register “Options” -> “File Locations”
Image
a) Edit “Sync files to” under Music: for example to \Music\<Folder>\<Filename (or \Music\<Year>\<Filename> )
Or use the “Configure-Button”.
Image
b) Open Register “Options” -> “Tagging”
Image
c) Deactivate the Button “Sync all Artwork to file folder” (albumart.jpg)
d) Activate the Button “Copy Artwork to file tags”

4) Open Register “Configure” -> “Playlists”
Image
a) Edit “Destination directory”: for example to \Music\Playlists\

MediaMonkey still create Folder in Storage\extSdCard\ the Folder MediaMonkey an Music
But this Folder only for MM information.

I`m very happy. My Files are in safe in “Storage\extSdCard\Music “ for the Files and Playlists in “Storage\extSdCard\Music\Playliste :)

The Filename and directory with the Folders now working. :D :D

The Covers miss sometimes. :(
-> The Problem is in the Playlist are the Files Grouped and I Can`t see it.
Image

I Think this is the Problem

[Please fix the Problem with the Cover!!

Now I buy the “MediaMonkey Pro” App. :D
The Beta expires in 15 Days!!!

Hi Christian,

Thanks for the detailed report.

1) Re. the mismatch labels for the Card / Internal memory, I'm testing with a GS3 (SGH-I747M) and it seems to work correctly. I'm using MMW 1687 and MMA 217--does the problem occur with a clean installation using the newest builds? (by clean install I mean: deleting appdata in MMA, deleting /MediaMonkey directory in MMA, re-installing and running MMA once; and in MMW deleting the sync profile).

2) Re. covers missing sometimes: I'm not sure I understand the problem--are you referring to a problem with MMW and how it displays content (as described at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=75068 )? Or are you saying that tracks synced to MMA are missing Album Art?

I'm having a similar issue with missing art on MMA 1.0.4.0219 PRO which I just paid for.
I copied all of my music from my Win 8.1 PC with MMW 4.1.0.1672 to a micro SD card and put the card in my phone, Motorola Droid Razr M. MMA scanned the files and all of my albums are there, but, about 1/3 of them are missing the art work. The art work is Tagged into the music files and all of the art work shows up in MMW on my PC. If I open google play music, or Amazon MP3 all of the album art is there. I have looked through the forums, and this was the closest I could find to my issue
Is there a bug or issue with MMA that would cause some of the album art to be missing?

You're using an old version of MMW so start by upgrading to the latest release for MediaMonkey 4.1.

In regards to "You're using an old version of MMW so start by upgrading to the latest release for MediaMonkey 4.1.'
Is that answer pertaining to Rad's post?

Rad is me since I registered an account
OK so I now have the latest MMW, I'm not sure how that will correct album art on MMA, now what?
by the way I copied the music to the SD card using windows, and I have over 357 albums with over 5500 songs

You should use MediaMonkey (MMW) to sync to MMA either using USB or wifi sync.

I've attempted the MM Wifi sync in the past and didn't have much luck.
Would I have to remove all of the music I have on the SD card and start from scratch, for WiFi sync to not duplicate albums?

As you used Windows, yes, besides your files have Artwork issues. To make sure no past problems linger you should start with a clean slate.

Hi Rad,

This is a bit baffling, because if you're copying your music using Windows, then artwork that appears in Google Play, should appear in MMA, and if it doesn't appear there, it shouldn't appear in MMA (note: the reason why it would appear in MMW but not MMA, if copied via Windows explorer, is that some tracks may not have artwork saved to the tag). Are you certain that some of your tracks that have artwork in GPlay don't have it in MMA? If so, please send us a couple such tracks.

Regardless, the solution to the problem would be to sync via MMW--that would ensure that all supported metadata makes it across (including ratings, play history, artwork, etc.).

Is there another location to use/configure on the SD card instead of directly under Music? For instance 'Storage:\MediaMonkey\Music' or just 'Storage:\MediaMonkey'?
