Wi-fi MMA sync sometimes fails when closing MMW

Hi,

I actually am reporting two wi-fi sync problems though the title only reflects one of them.

I have had two occasions today when I had MMW 1735 open, and then started a wi-fi sync with MMA 400. While the sync was ongoing, I exited from my MMW window (I did nothing to stop the MM server). Within a few seconds, the MMA sync reported that the sync had ended, when in fact it still had a long way to go.

The second time, I had MMW open and two wi-fi syncs going from two different phones running MMA 400. The first sync had no problems up to this time, But the second phone's sync skipped over most of the files, and finally reported that it had "failed to download" about 1500 of 1700 files. I started the sync again and this time it seemed to download files it had skipped before. This is the other problem I am reporting.

A bit later I closed MMW again, and the first MMA sync immediately ended prematurely. The second sync continued without any problem.

One thing you have to remember .. when MMW is running the *service* is not running. When you shut down MMW then there is a gap between when MMW is off and the Service is running. This is because of the database that is being used (instead of a real db service). So by doing the shutdown stops the process and when the service starts up .. the sync has already stopped.
This happens the same when streaming dlna .. the vid will stop and the client will most likely get confused and have to be re-connected.

So that just leaves the other problem where when there are two simultaneous wi-fi syncs ongoing, one of them skipped over most of the files to be downloaded, but then downloaded them during a second attempt. I am wondering if MM supports multiple simultaneous wi-fi syncs.

Hmm that is a good question. I have a single wifi and a usb they work fine.

You might create a log during the sync process (see my signature block below on reporting bugs) then create a support ticket.

I know that there was a time where even with USB two devices at the same time got confused. You are using pretty much the newest so that really shouldn't be a problem now.
