Removing lots of tracks from library crashes MM5 [#14047]

Post by Friedrich »

Removing lots of tracks (41000, i.e.: all tracks) from the library crashes MM5
MM5 (2606)and MM4 (1919) installed and running well on:
Debian 11 KDE, EndeavourOS KDE (wine 7.4 via playonlinux), Win10 64bit

I could reproduce:
Log ID: 708667EA
Steps:
1. Music / All tracks (54’733 files, 343.3 GB, 3’788:57:34)
2. [Ctrl]+[A]
3. [Delete]
4. Are you sure you want to delete 54733 tracks?
  • Delete from Library
  • [ Yes ]
Nothing happens for a few minutes on then MM crashes

Regards,
Dieter

Sure..:
Removing subsets of all tracks seems to work slow but OK:
~5000 tracks: ok ~10 min
~9500 tracks: ok~17 min
~26000 tracks (all remaining): crash Log-ID: A77D67EA
~20000 : ok ~20 min
~5000 (all remaining) : crash LOG-ID: 39A50BD4 and message "Argument out of range"

BTW: "Clear database" works without problem; but I guess that's a completely different algorithm.. .

Hi,
This sounds like memory Leak and List update issue on the end e.g. "Argument out of range"

I reproduced the crash again, creating a DebugView log and a video, showing
  • MediaMonkey
  • DebugView
  • Task Manager
Files can be found here
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/qgdpi4 ... rashes_MM5

Log ID: 61A067EA
files before start: 54733
files after crash and restart: 54364 files

I hope that helps, best regards,
Dieter
