2203<>2206 - initial setup wizard [#16021 / 16022]

A couple of small points of confusion ... small, but they would the 1st thing that the User experiences with MM5.

#1. Modal dbox opening too low in the z-order
Steps:

• install MM ... don't import from MM4

• Press the Wizard's Options button

• Library|MediaTree --- attempt to add a collection

• The requires Gold dbox opens ... Press Register\Purchase

• => the Registration dbox opens under the requires Gold dbox ... the Registration dbox is modal, so MM is frozen

#2. The Wizard doesn't detect whether I have already registered
Steps:

• do as above

• minimise and then re-activate MM window, so that I can click on the obscured window to bring it to top

• Register this new version of MM

• proceed through the Wizard ... The last step is Registration

• I have unlocked Gold features for this new version, but the Wizard didn't check, and requires me to do it again.

re 2) did you previously register MM5 or you meant MM4 registration import ?

Hi, I was registering my MM4 account key in both instances:

• #1. when challenged trying to define a custom collection using the Wizard's Option button

• #2. and then again after the Wizard has proceeded to Register step

I don't think so.

• clean install of MM5 ... don't import data from MM4

• press the Options button during 1st step of the first-through wizard
  • try to create a custom index ... Gold credentials required --- supply them
  • MM5 responds "thank for purchasing ...."

• continue through the wizard ... the 3rd wizard step does not recognise that you have purchased|registered ... challenges again for credentials ... "MM is free, however you can upgrade ..." ... ignore, because been there, done that

• wizard completes ... you are not registered for Gold features

OK, thanks for clarification. I appreciate being kept in the loop.

As a tester it is difficult keeping track of all the tasks and sub-tasks. ... and delayed tasks ... and issues for which there was zero response.
Maybe I am incorrect, but I don't think we have a mantis view which is filtered to only open tasks ... and we can't filter to <= FixedInBuild either.
