Why does MediaMonkey repeatedly duplicate music files?
I just went through and deleted nine copies of one song. When MediaMonkey duplicates a file it generates really minor differences in properties so each copy shows up as a totally different song.
Yep, the storage directory of media files gets a slow but inexorable increase in size in storage every time MediaMonkey is closed and reopened.
I discovered this when my C: drive suddenly was show a low disc space issue. After a couple of hours of using "find duplicate files" I was able to remove a hundred or so duplicates and get the red alert off my C: drive.

Re: Why duplicating files?
I have the same problem, literally happening overnight. It's a drag to manually delete all these duplicated, greyed-out files.
I know this has been discussed here before, but I can't find any references with search.

Re: Why duplicating files?
I found that in my case of grey-out files, one can restore these files, What I did was to open the properties window and just clicked on OK. I am not aware of how to bulk this job, as all the changes need to be done manually..

Re: Why duplicating files?
Can you please detail where/how the files are stored (internal/external/network drive, anything peculiar about the setup), if you're using Folder Monitoring at startup, and which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey you're using?
