Hey guys,
I have been experimenting with monkeyrock these last days. I am so pleased with the results and how it drastically changes MM look and feel, I can only say THANK YOU.
This beauty is a nice piece of coding indeed. Shame you had to abandon its support. i believe that MM team should considere implementing something like this... my humble opinion.
Here a screenshot in 800*640 with wide skin. You can open a 1280 picture
HERE. Press F11 for full screen and toggle.
Note how the old windows look (+ &- in folder tree) has been updated with the vista theme, allowing monkeyrok to make us feel even more in a linux environment.
I can't possibly think of a reason why this script should not be installed, provided you know how MM heavily relies on internet explorer settings (which sucks IMHO).

I tried to re-install MonkeyRok without any result, so I have no idea what causes this problem.

Any ideas?

have the same problem!!!!

Do you Guys have a temp directory e.g. C:\Temp?
Also, do you have the alpha 2 version of the script.
Ratings was an issue in Alpha 1 not being able to handle half stars.

Yes, I'm using Alpha 2 and have a folder named C:\temp - otherwise the display of album art in MonkeyRok wouldn't work neither.
So the problem must depend on something else. Hope you guys can solve it.

I had and have this error-message whenever i install the Rok. Sadly the development seems to be cancelled, 'cause it runs once in a while and then it's just great.

Not sure if it is bug but I had to manually create C:\tmp\

I didn't, I changed the settings to point to my normal temp-folder

(it should use %temp% instead of c:\tmp, but might not be easy to script)
MonkeyRok vs. Detailed Song Info panel + feature requests

I installed both MonkeyRok and Detailed Song Info panel (
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6165), and prefer MonkeyRok.
Part of it is that I couldn't get rid of the ActiveX nag for each track when Detailed Song Info panel is activated, but also I love all the play data (counts, last played, rating, favorite songs etc). It's a great way to see and navigate quickly to other great music by the same artist.
The great thing about Detailed Song Info panel I would have absolutely loved to see for MonkeyRok is integrated play controls and Now Playing. That way, I can disable those two MM-windows and save a lot of screen space.
While on the screen space subject, it would be awesome to have each section of the MonkeyRok screen apart from the info of the current track collapsible. That way, you'd only have visible what you want at a given time.
Finally, I mentioned how great it is to see other songs/albums by the same artist, with ratings and all. If you click on a song, it starts playing. It would have been much better to have two icons (mini-versions of the MM ones) where one is Play now, the other (which I almost always need) is to add it to Now playing. It is quite rare that I would want to listen to one of those songs right away without finishing the playlist I was already listening to.
A lot of issues, but it does not detract from this great script!

I was actually just going to mention this.
I would suggest that clicking on the track adds it to the end of the playlist and clicking a fairly small icon next to it plays it now - as that would be much less likely to be used... plus it works as error control.. the bigger button, that you can easily press by habit or accident.. doesn't interupt play...
secondly.. I just wanted to share and edit I made...
I added this to the css
because my version of IE didn't doesn't seem to hide the scrollbars when the info fits, but this makes it.
my IE is 6.0.2900.2180

hey there..
I noticed this error if starting media monkey with Monkeyrok open..
MonkeyRock throws an error loading the page is there is no current song
Line: 65
Char: 2
Object required 'SDB.Player.CurrentSong'
in basic/skin.htm
(that's the only one I tested though)
I have tweakmonkey telling mediamonkey to play straight away on startup... but my now playing list was blank.

in regard to my above post about:
as much as I would like that to work properly.. it doesn't...
when it all fits.. yes.. the vertical scrollbar dissapears... however.. when it doesn't fit.. the vertical scrollbar appears and since the page has already laid itself out based on NOT having the scrollbar there, when it IS there, it can't fit horizontally.. so BOTH scrollbars appear.
This is probably why you didn't do it in the first place... if it's not thoguh.. and there's a solution.. that'd be a grand cosmetic adjustment for me...
I might try updating IE now though.

Thanks for this great software - an awesome addition to MediaMonkey. It's the best plugin that I've found for it.
For anyone else having the activex issue, this hack worked for me:
1) Run regedit.exe
2) Goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0
3) Modify key 1201 = 0
On a side note, has anyone updated to IE 7 and is this working properly for them still?
