Am getting two errors. One comes at the end of closing MM 2.5.5. How can I fix this? Seems like a windows script error somehow related to MM. Never got this error before on previous install The errors are shown below:

Thanks for any help!

"Permission denied" implies that you have a anti-virus or similar software which is stopping the script from accessing MM. You need to set this script be allowed in the options of the software, probably.

I use AVG anti-virus as my service and I had it prior but this worked just fine. Looked through the program and do not see anywhere to allow certain programs to run scripts or anything like that? Any ideas? Anyone use AVG or similar and have some recommendations? Thanks much.

I'm sure I saw in another post somewhere that you said you have done a clean install of Windows recently???
If this is the case, you may need to "tweak" you windows security settings to allow visual basic scripts to operate correctly.

There is information on this in a sticky in the scripts forum.

When you select "Tools > Scripts > Backup" from the menu you are presented with the options screen before you click "Ok" to perform the backup. Any automatic backups you setup will be done using the same settings.

Recently installed your script, a couple of observations.

First, if I want to change my backup from auto back-up on shutdown there is no way to simple change the option without a backup being done right then. How about a button that says "apply" so that you can make changes to the options without kicking off a backup right away?

Also, when the backup happens automatically how about an option to display the status screen? I have a rather large collection and the back-up takes a few minutes - I usually just walk away. When I return though I get this pop-up box telling me the backup completed just waiting for a "OK" click, not really necessary. Or maybe make that pop-up time out after a determined amount of time?

Lastly - how about an option to prompt if you want to execute a backup? With large DB I don't always want to spend the time at shutdown doing a backup (I know, a gamble, but it's NOT that important that I have a backup from when I last ran the program this morning. As I'm in and out of the program a couple times a day having it backup each time is annoying. I know I can set it so that it doesn't do it at all, but that's easy to forget then ;)

Overall nice job on the script (as usual for all your work).

Yeah, you and me both bob61 Image

I am in exactly the same position as you. I too, have a rather large collection. I have found the same quirks with the backup, but didn't know how to phrase things without upsetting folk. Your findings are the same as mine. Your wishes are what I want too. Thanks for posting this.

and let me say again, trixmoto, Overall nice job on the script (as usual for all your work). Image

@bob61 - I'll take a look at these suggestions in the next version. The trouble with applying the settings is that they may not work properly, that's why a backup is always done to check them. But I'll see what I can do! :)

@MusicBringer - you would not have caused offence, I take constructive critercism and suggestions very well, it's only mindless abuse I don't like!

Hi Trixmoto:

I know you are studiously working to convert all your scripts over to MM3 and I am generally a patient person, but is there any chance this script is anywhere near the top of the list, this is the last one that is keeping me glued to MM2?
