MMA1 jumped to the currently playing song in the now playing queue when opening that view.
Not sure if MMA2 ever had that feature, but currently it just opens the view showing the first songs of the list.

Thanks--MMA 2's Playing queue will jump to the playing track when the next track starts playing, but I agree that it should also show the current position when the user launches the playing queue view (even if playback isn't active).
