What is the “winamp.exe” file in the MediaMonkey folder used for?

That's a left over from the days MediaMonkey was compatible with WinAmp plugins.

I forgot to ask whether Decoder.exe is also one of these leftover files and can therefore be deleted as well?

No, it's used by MediaMonkey, including for playback.

Hi,
Winamp.exe is needed to be in MM folder in case you want to install old Winamp plugins.

- Are there still Winamp plugins in MMW2024/2027?
- I asked about “winamp.exe” and “decoder.es” because both appear in my file explorer with the same icon, which is different from that of “MM.exe,” and both may be remnants from MM4.
