Give users a way to disable the track bubble which pops up at the beginning. It's very annoying.

it is not needed.

this if done in media monkey would be a useless waste of time doing double coding.

the little pop sound is an windows operating system sound.

you can find out how to turn it off in the FAQ list

or if you know windows which it sounds like you don't you could go to the control panel and to the sounds and turn it off with out going to the faq list.

which is what the FAQ list will tell you to do.

if you don't know how to do this find the best geek in your family and tell them to turn off that little pop up notifier sound.

i never ever ever reply on these forums, but i felt i needed too, you did a 5paragraph answer to a question he did not anwser, so well done. lol.

Please be more specific where you can find this information. You just linked to the front page of the FAQ. I searched the FAQ for "popup" and got no results.

From MediaMonkey: Tools -> Options -> Player
There you can turn off the track popup.

EDIT: The link above goes to the wrong location because the MediaMonkey support page was totally rewritten, so the old link is redirected to the new support site. Currently there is no entry in the KB for how to turn off the track popup.

Sorry I didn't look at the dates on the posts apart from the last couple. There's a few months gap there.

in my post james.faction i had presumed they were talking about the windows notify sound for popup's the little plunk sound. that is asked how to turn off almost on a by weekly basis.

thats more likely the reason you could not find how to turn off the pop up toaster in mm. i think lowlander was also telling them to check the FAQ list for the way to turn off the windows pop up sound.

He says "the track bubble" which I would take to be the same thing I'm interested in disabling - well a friend who I installed mediamonkey for was asking me and I didn't have an installation handy to look for myself - the bubble showing track info that pops up next to the clock. It's on a PC that's also used as a POS in a retail store (handy to have as an on-hand media library too). Unfortunately they've just upgraded the POS software and the popup bubble obscures part of the new interface and annoys the girls using it. I blame the new POS software myself but I'm not the one using it...

This topic is the only one that shows up in a google search for "mediamonkey popup" so it's good to have some helpful info about that.

yep thats bad the new software messing it up. but in the options for the program you can use the sliders for the position of the pop up notice to be moved elsewhere on your screen. just left click the sliders and move them while holding the mouse button down and you can see where in Hort. or vert. the pop up will be moved to.

the sliders are the same place you found the option to disable the pop up.

yep google does not look too deep in the forums for pages they make it go shallow to be faster.
but the forums deep pages have more on this pop up notifier its just buried fast in a used forum.

Dunno if you have solved your problem but:
tools > options > player tab (click player - no sub category) > uncheck popup display info

okay i been re reading this whole thread.

and checking in other forums. it seems now that you are talking about the tools pop up balloon,
there should be an option to turn off the pop up balloons in monkey i think it is on the general tab in the options.

but i'm sure you can find a way turn off the pop up balloons in windows also.

if in fact that is what your talking about and your not talking about the popup notifier of which is a script in monkey that works like the old winamp toaster plug in.

That popup has infuriated me forever. I don't play music with MM if I am using on of many applications that have buttons that get hidden by that popup bubble. The bubble prevents you from running any app that has buttons in the bottom right corner of the screen. With MM2 they were not so big and would not prevent you from using certain apps. The new more readable bubble does.
