Is it possible to add or rename Classification criteria? Like could I rename the "Wild" value under "Mood" to something else? Or add more values to "Mood"? Or add my own custom-defined Classification with its own set of values?

Also, is there any way to add columns in the library view for properties of a track that aren't currently listed among the available columns?

And if these things aren't possible with options built-in to MM, could they be possible via a script?

I've used non-listed vlaues for "Mood" before,but in another program. I dont' see whi it won't work in MM. I've used numeric values in"Tempo" in the other program and MM read them all in correctly. I think you can do the same thing for "Situation".

Just type in what you want in the Tag field and see if it gets saved. Use mp3tag or similar to confirm the tag has actually been updated.

well the thing is that the Classification fields don't get saved into the actual tag of the mp3, they get saved in the MM database.

EDIT: you were right though, just typing in my own text adds a new category for the Classification! now the question is how to add custom Classification sets in addition to the built-in Tempo, Mood, Occasion, and Quality sets.

Actually classification tags do get stored, but only the mood field follows the standards when it comes to Mp3 files.

Sorry I misunderstood the issue. The answer is that you can't but you can use the custom fields to whatever you want. Wouldn't that fit your needs?

I think they do get saved to the mp3. You could test this. Edit an mp3, confirm the tag has been changed in MM, then load mp3tag (free) and check the mp3. If the tag displays the info (might need to look under "Extended Tag Info") the info was saved tothe tag.

Not sure about that. I wonder if you can use the three Custom Tags (you can rename them) and maybe the scripting software to create a tree/node to do what you want. Maybe others can help with that -- or search for "Custom Tag" and "Scripts"
