Let the basic user change between "Artist" and &am

In the normal filter, a non-Gold user can't define if he wants only to sort by "Album Artist" or "Artist"-field. Basic setting is both combined, but it can get messed quite fast if there are a lot of different contributing artists on an album.
My suggestion: Let the user switch (via a right-click context-menu on that particular node) between these three Artist-views. This will mean that the basic user gets a tiny bit of customizability of the tree as well, but I only see that as an advantage.
