Auto Tagging Feature

Post by wangstra »

I should like Media Monkey but man oh man does the auto tagging feature feel like garbage. For example I have the song "Girlfriend" by NSYNC on the album "Celebrity". All the meta data is correct but using the auto tagging feature, Media Monkey can't find anything. Typing "*NSYNC" in the search field brings up nothing. Typing "NYSNC" (without the asterix) brings up a Blackstreet Boys album????????

Am I doing something wrong? Finally is it possible to use another database other than amazon? This isn't cutting it. How can searching for nsync bring up backstreetboys?

You can check on Amazon on how 'N Sync is written on Amazon and you should get better results. The results are provided by Amazon and as such there is not much MediaMonkey can do.

You can't use other sources with the Auto-Tag from Web, but there is the Web Sources Tagger script that can tag from alternative sources. You can find this and other scripts in the Scripts and Components forum.

Just to really frighten you, there are actually quite a few connections betwixt such pop groups. Witness Celine Dion & Backstreet Boys and n'sync on stage at the same time. On purpose. "Performing." I had nicer dreams before you asked that question. The world is a scary place. :(

Actually there is a discogs auto tag from web available - http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... gs#p145274

Also I believe there's a lyrics auto-tag from web script available, but it only searches for lyrics.
