I've got a Sansa Clip with a 16 gb sd card. I've got some auto playlists set up to sync with both the internal and external memory. The playlists are setup such that their won't be duplicate tracks amongst them.

I'm noticing that a large portion of my tracks (on the sd card) are duplicating, in many cases up to 3 times when I sync. This is very time consuming.

The folders have random looking numbers and letters before the artist name like:

740D0000_Alela Diane - The Pirate's G

and will be duplicated in a different folder like

Alela Diane - The Pirate's Gospel

I tried formatting the card and device and starting over with the option to force folder structures checked, but the strange folder names still appeared during duplication.

Any thoughts?

Which exact model Sansa and which version of MediaMonkey are you using?

I believe this problem has come by on the forum, but I can't remember for sure (if it was it should've been resolved).

Its possible, but I've looked long and hard. This mp3 player is very simple with standard sd card storage and MM has it listed as a supported device.

I don't see any evidence of it either, could swear this was an issue with MediaMonkey 3, so a debug log (step 4b) capturing this happening send to support is best: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=12&t=69

I shouldn't have to do this, but I've seen some other issues with the Clip being resolved by forcing MTP usb mode on the device. It has the default option to auto detect. I will try wiping my device and forcing the usb mode. I will report back

I think that may have been it. I too suggest trying MTP if you weren't using it.

Forcing MTP on a freshly formatted Clip did not fix the problem. I think you have to use MSC mode. Here's more info:
