Loving MM5, thanks for your work on it.

I am finding it irritating how the podcast descriptions are cut off partway through - both in the central column, and in the properties window.

Are you sure that it is not the feed itself (RSS) that includes the shortened description ?

I think the problem reported is that the Comment in the Filelisting is cut-off relative to the Comment in Properties. I don't know if the problem is also that the Comment in Properties is cut and appended...

Yes, the comment in file listing is cut-off to 200 chars (like in MM4), but the comment in Properties isn't (see my screenshot above) -- 258 chars.
Therefore I asked the RSS link to check.

BTW: If you add some characters in the Properties dialog to prolong the comment then I suppose that it is shown there after visiting the Properties again and after MM5 restart as in my case : https://www.dropbox.com/s/vxm3sqdz4qtoq ... 8.png?dl=0

I don't really understand what (if anything) I am being asked to do. I thought my report was clear and included a picture which clearly shows that the podcast description (comment) is abbreviated and ends with a "..." instead of showing the full text. This happens for every podcast I am subscribed to, so I presume that it is something to do with how MM5 works.

Do please let me know if you need more info from me.

For starters the Subscriptions URL so we can confirm that the Podcast is not providing it that way in the first place.

I will do what you ask here, but I already explained that every podcast I am subscribed to has the description comment abbreviated with "...", not only the one I shared with you in the image.

Also, just to clarify, i am reporting that the podcast description is cut off in the central column showing the individual podcast list for each feed, and is also cut off in the "Comment" field accessed by right-clicking and opening Properties for the relevant podcast.

OK, I just wanted to say that I am not seeing the issue with my set of podcast feeds.

In your feed the problem is in RSS itself, there is

<itunes:summary>An impressively detailed investigation by Bellingcat and The Insider meticulously details the Russian Federal Security Service operation against Alexei Navalny, so here is a short podcast episode devoted to this case and some implications.The report is...</itunes:summary>

MM reads the <itunes:summary> element so that's also the reason why it shows what it shows.
I can see in the feed that there is also <description> element including the HTML version of the description (as shown in a web browser) that MM cannot show.

Comment field in the Filelisting is cut off programmatically as Ludek explained (limited to 200 characters), so that's by design.

The Comment in Properties is cutoff by the Podcast provided as Ludek explained above. This is something MediaMonkey can't change as the information is provided this way.
