Introduction

MediaMonkey for Android (MMA) can Synchronize media files and associated metadata (Album Art, play history, etc.) via wi-fi Sync with MediaMonkey for Windows (MMW). This requires both MediaMonkey for Android and MediaMonkey for Windows.

Initial Setup =

Before being able to do the first Sync, the Sync needs to be setup. This can be done in 2 ways:

  • Via USB, for this connect your device via USB to the PC running MMW. MMW will then create a device profile which will contain all the Sync settings.
  • Via wi-fi, this sets up the Device Profile when first connecting via wi-fi to the MMW Server.

To be able to Sync you'll need to setup the connection in MMA in both cases.

Wi-fi Sync Setup

To setup the connection the first time:

  1. Select Sync in the menu in MMA
  2. Select the UPnP Server from the MMW installation you want to Sync with (ie. MediaMonkey 5 (Server))
  3. Click Next
  4. Enable the storages you want Synced to. MMA will create a Device Profile per storage found on your device
  5. Modify any Sync settings for each storage enabled
  6. Click Sync Now to initiate the wi-fi Sync.

If you didn't select any content to be Synced nothing will be Synced.
