That is the way the Apple Remote/Android TunesRemote discovers running instances of MonkeyTunes/Itunes. Bonjour is absolutely required.

is it really necessary to have apples bonjour installed? i would prefer to have nohing installed from apple on my pc...
if bonjour is needed, can yomeone tell me why?
