I was finding a solution today ! That strange ! I can't write .m4a tag with MM. I was trying convert my aac files in m4a again with a other "convertiser" and now that work ! MM write mp4 tag in my new m4a files. Why ? I don't know but that work ! So i will keep the m4a format because aac don't support tag.

Yes, MM doesn't retain the info. But i will try before reply with a other .m4a files and that work ! :o

After the scan, MM lost the tag. That don't work :(

ID3 is not used for M4A tagging, so any settings you use here shouldn't affect M4A tagging. I would expect M4A tagging to work on original M4A files. To confirm try:
1) Tag original M4A file in MediaMonkey.
2) Create a copy of M4A file
3) Scan it into MediaMonkey and see if tags are as you just tagged

If they are MediaMonkey is tagging them, if they're not something failed.

After some try, i can rename aac at m4a. I can play the song but i can't edit tag with MM. Errors with EasyTag and Mp3Tag, i can't create a new tag.
I have music in .m4a original format. I can create tag with it but only with EasyTag and Mp3Ta. I can't choose tag type and the mp4 tag are imposed. So, MM can't edit the .m4a with mp4 tag because i try to write in ID3v2 tag :cry:

Yes, the properties chart in the wiki seems to be only for the m4a, mp4 versions of .aac (not .aac itself).

However, apparently it's possible to rename the extension to .m4a and use a program called EasyTag to edit them.
You can rename them back afterwards. Although, I'm not certain any other programs would still be able to read the tags.
If you are really desperate to keep the extension, you should try a test file to see if it works. Otherwise, you could just try converting
to m4a using comparable specifications.

Pardon my French. If I remember correctly .aac files can't be tagged. .m4a, .m4p, etc. can, but .aac can't.

J'ai essayé. Sans succès, les tags ID3v1 reste. Cependant, J'ai réussi à les supprimer avec Mp3tag mais impossible de créer du ID3v2 avec Mp3tag ou MM. Mp3tag m'autorise seulement à écrite des tags apeV2. Est-ce que les tags apeV2 marche avec MM ? Je n'ais pas réussi, faut-il un plugin ? Je ne connais pas le .APE et son tag. Cela peut être une solution aux ID3v2.

Vous devriez essayer Eyal's suggestion. Bien que, jeve a toujours eu la mienne pour v1 et v2 et n'a jamais eu de problème. Mais, je n'utilise jamais .aac.
