Ratings have been added to the larger MMA widgets in the 1.1.0 beta builds (it's not supported in the 1.0.7 stable release). You can give that a try if you're willing to live on the edge

I've taken advantage of the Black Friday deal to bin iTunes and go for MM Gold and MMA on my phone. Rating tracks and playcounts is important to me for creating autoplaylists that stay fresh by having tracks I rate highly and dumping songs once I've listened to them. I've got my phone and MM syncing fine, but I can't work out if there's an option to show/change ratings on the widget - is it possible?

Until now I've used Poweramp as my main media player as I could sync it to iTunes to send track ratings back. There is a Music Ratings widget on my phone, but I cant remember where it's from, and when I remove and re-add it, it asks me which music app to link it to, but the only options are Poweramp, Google Music or the Default player.

Is there anyway of getting a widget that links to MMA that lets me quickly add/change ratings plus skip tracks? As far as I can see none of the default widget let you do this, only pause/play, FW, back and shuffle. It's ust handy to have and more of a ballache to have to keep opening the app to get to the ratings option.

I also want to rate all my songs in certain playlists. It would be great if i could rate them from the widgets. Even in the app it takes too many touches at the moment.
It would also be nice if i could see in the playlists which songs a rated and which aren't, or maybe even change the order off the playlist based on the ratings.

What's hard to understand,
1. place widget on home screen
2. Lock home screen yourself or let it go to sleep and lock its' self.
3. Touch screen to bring out of sleep mode.
4. View widget for mm

Rovingcowboy, why not take a screenshot and post it up on imgur or something so we can see exactly what you're talking about? It's really a shame this forum doesn't allow us to post attachments. I can understand why though. You want all your dev logs to go on the bug tracker, not the forum. I'm sure there's a way to limit the type of files attached though.

If you are getting the item i described with the faint cover art image on it and the player control buttons, in you notification area then you are either 1. Not placing the widget on to the home screen, or 2. Your phone / device is placing the widgets in that area as their way of showing them when the screen is locked. I would try adding another widget and see if it shows up in that area. And contact the maker of your device ask them if they placed the widgets there when they are lock screen widgets.

But all i do is place the widget on the home screen, then when the screen locks and goes to sleep if i touch the screen to wake it up there is the widget for me to use, without going to the notification area or unlocking the screen.

If you are thinking the widget is showing after the screen goes to sleep with out my touching the screen, then your trying to get a sleeping screen widget which can not be done, because the whole screen sleeping is turning off the screen and you can not spec what section of the screen would stay on for a widget, it don't work that way, you need to wake up the screen to see the locked screen widget, the locked screen is signified by the image of the pad lock on it you have to press to unlock it.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. How do you get it? I currently have the 3 control buttons but that is it. With that being said, I do have what you describe in my notifications bar when mma is running.

Well i'm not saying anything about your phone as i dont remember seeing what you have but i dont get art in the screen control button area on my motorola phone it just shows me the 3 button icons there, i really do get the lock screen widget showing on my andriod 4.0.4 phone and i didnt have my phone hacked or rooted its straight from the maker.
The art on it is not the square image but is a strip of the cover done across the whole widget. And is placed in the background as an faint image. With all controls and text in white.

Yes, I believe we are talking about two different things. There are the new lockscreen widgets that were added in Android 4.2, and there is the lockscreen widget that MMA already has as a feature. I am simply asking that album artwork be added to the current lockscreen that MMA has.
