when I ripped them it was to mp 3 but that was using wins xp

Where they ripped using Windows Media Player and are you sure they're MP3 (as MP3 should not have DRM)? The fact that it mentions that the license can't be downloaded points to DRM.

I downloaded them from a cd which it automatically transferred to mp 3 mode they were downloaded from my old lap so they were stored in MM

Sounds like the files may have DRM protection. What file type (and where were the files downloaded)?

The license cannot be downloaded because your Web browser is not supported.

To download a license, you must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later.

To install the latest version of Internet Explorer, see the Windows Update page.
this is the message i get I am running the latest version of windows 8

Are you using MediaMonkey for Windows 4 or MediaMonkey for Metro? What file type(s) fail to play and what happens when you try to play a track fails to play?

I have the latest version of MM i downloaded it to my new laptop when it downloaded my music files from my old laptop which ran windows xp now only some files will play in windows 8 ?
