OK, I guess you would need to delete the original XXX version and then only XXX (1) will be preserved. You can then rename it back from XXX (1) - > XXX.
i. e. the original XXX is the dummy item (with the original USD ID and original capacity).

I deleted only the XXX (1) drives after expanding the Devices & Services window to "show all". When MM5 restarts it adds them all back into the system. It isn't a major problem, just wondering why once deleted MM5 doesn't recognize to no longer place them in the Devices & Services section. Thank you!

Hi, you deleted both "Pictures" and "Pictures (1)" or only one of them?
One of them is going to return, but it is disabled by default, so it shouldn't be visible (and bother you) until you expand the Devices section to show 'All' profiles.
Is this what you are seeing?

If I delete them, should they continually return? Each time I open MM5, the deleted entries return.

By analyzing the differences between "Pictures" and "Pictures (1)" storages I see that both have slightly different USB ID and slightly different capacity.
Maybe you reformatted it or something like that? Or maybe you (or some app) created another partition on it?
Does plugging into another USB port has any effect on how the Pictures storage is recognized? i.e. "Pictures" vs "Pictures (1)" ?

Anyhow based on the data the capacity and IDs are different so I don't have a way how to match them with the original profiles.
You can just remove the old profiles (without the (1) appendix) supposing that the storages are now always connected to the newer profiles (despite the USB port used).

Another way could be to use them really as sync profiles and configure the sync profile somehow, this way the /MediaMonkey/files/storageInfo.xml file will be written to the storages with pairing key. But external HDDs are "disabled" by default as sync profiles (under the "Devices & Services").
So supposing that you are not using them as storages to which you want to sync your music then feel free to remove them.

Did a search and could not find any files named storageinfo.xml listed on any drive or partition. Did find two MMDB database files. One on the H:\Songs SSD Drive (that has all MediaMonkey information and MMDB and contained MM4). One on the C:\Windows SSD Drive under users information. The MMDB on the H:\Songs Drive partition is about 100 MB and the MMDB on the C:\Windows\Users\"Name"\App Data\Local Drive partition is approximately 70 MB. I opened a help ticket, zipped up the MMDB files and have sent them. Thanks Ludek!

EDIT: Before posting your MM.DB, did you delete /MediaMonkey/ folder created on the storages? There is storageInfo.xml file where the pairing GUID is included, deleting it could result in the duplicate profile as the new key (GUID) was generated for the storage and stored to /MediaMonkey/files/storageInfo.xml again. Couldn't this be the reason?

In a previous post entitled Error Messages, I outlined some issues with drives being read incorrectly and returning error messages. This was addressed in the latest MM5 update (or perhaps 2148?) and the error messages no longer appear. However, this has created some additional strange behavior in the Menu Tree Devices & Services option. Since the update, Devices & Services now duplicates all of the HDD partitions on my Windows 10 system, except for the H:\Songs partition (which is a Samsung 850 SSD Hard Drive dedicated as MM5 library and assorted MM5 files to include the MM5 database. ALL other HDD partitions on a Samsung SSD 1TB and WD 500 GB are duplicated. MM5 lists the duplicated partitions with a USB icon and names them as "XXX (1) :". However, under the Menu Tree Folders option, the partitions show correctly with the Drive icon and are listed only once. Here is a link to some screenshots demonstrating the behavior.
