Oh, thanks. That part of MM makes more sense to me now. I had never looked at the Playing node.

In that case you can just select the Playing node in the Media Tree and then use the View options to set it to Lyrics. However that works as long as you don't need to navigate around the Library (which could be done in a different tab and switch back an forth between tabs).

I think you misunderstood the Op. The main panel is both width and length, ... ie. it is roughly square.

Hi mnaoumov,

As you say the layout config facility makes it look like the lyrics cannot be placed on the main screen, but that is not correct.
The UI is very confusing here, but this works for me:
  • setup the UI so that the Playing panel is visible ... by default it is in the right panel
  • start a queue of tracks playing
  • double click the header of the playing panel ==> the main panel seems to now be owned by the Playing panel
  • or select "Album Art" view mode; then click the "lookup lyrics" button for just the tracks that you are interested in ... the lyrics are shown on the main panel, with a panel divider that you can resize to give greater or lesser space to lyrics vs blowup of album art

Thank you, I overlooked it

Lyrics are available in the Filelisting as field like you saw, but also in the Properties > Lyrics tab as well as in the Lyrics panel and the Playing panel (View > Layout to enable).

If Playing is set to Selected, the Lyrics panel shows Lyrics for the selected file.

Hello there. I am sorry if I am asking a stupid question, I am a newbie here. I am using MediaMonkey for a few days and even purchased a Gold license.

I am trying to organize my messy audio collection. I added lyrics to some of the songs. And I want to be able to open them in a popup when I listen a song. It seems, MM5 doesn't have this functionality, I could only add Lyrics as a column in the grid but it is unusable.

I googled some extensions for MM to add this required functionality, but MM5 doesn't install them saying it won't install plugins for MM4.

So what do we do for such issues?

I am a developer, so if it requires some coding for me, that's fine if you just push me in the right direction.
