Hi,
Although I have not being able to replicate your exact problem I as able to simulate such behavior and added https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16862 for analyze and fix.

Hi,

Note: This only happens if MM5 isn't running in the background. With MM running files open/play as expected.

When I attempt to open music files from file explorer mm5 fails to start.
The splash screen does appears for a few seconds before disappearing.
In task manager the program is visible while splash screen is displayed but closes afterwards.

MM5 will also create a "chromium" and "GPUCache" folder when a music file is double clicked in the file explorer.
This doesn't seem to happen when selecting Open with MediaMonkey in context menu or by using any option in Music Tools from the Win10 ribbon.
Unfortunately the launching issue still persists even by using these alternative options.

MM build 2257
Win 10 (1909)
i7 8700k
GTX 1080
MM5 installed on nvme SSD.
Music files on 7200rpm HDD.
