I am very sorry that ReplayGain and DSP plugin function do not work when music videos are playing.

That would be a fantastic addition to the program. :D

MPG files use "ID3 tag" which is the same as the tag of MP3.

Therefore I think it is easy to be enable ReplayGain in these formats.
For example, dBpower Music Converter can save ReplayGain values in WMV and MP4 video files.

I don't know about MKV, RM, FLV and others.
ID3 tag in MPG is not standard and can cause problems with playback, especially on HW players. I've tried it already and even some SW players had problems with it.
MKV allows metadata storing too, MM cannot store metadata to it now, but it is planned.
And - this issue is not only about storing replay gain info into tag, but also about making it work as usual ;-) Maybe later we will try to implement this, I think.

Nice. I didn't see that ticket.
I'm happy to see that it caught the attention of rusty.

Same here.

There is a lot of variation in volume among my videos. :/

btw: It would be nice if mediamonkey could implement aacgain.

well if your looking for video editor programs that might do it? or show that it is in there.?

try

XmediaRecoder i found it at majorgeeks and it has tons of formats it can convert to and from and has tons of audio
options you can change it might show you if the replay gain is really able to be part of the video audio track or not.

:-?

Found this here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/lof ... 56059.html
Since you want to edit the audio, the video has got nothing to do with it.
There are two ways, one is lossless, the other is lossy. The lossless way can be done only if you have a mp3, aac or lossless format stream. Other audio formats will have to be done in a lossy way.

Firstly, you will have to extract the audio (demux). This can be done with a varying amount of tools, depending on the container. Better you tell us what formats you want to deal with.

Second, the extracted audio file must be replaygained with foobar2000.
-or-
The lossless way for mp3 or aac: Run mp3gain or aacgain. You can skip the third step.

Third, convert the replaygained file with foobar and tell it to recognize the replaygain, so the adjustment is encoded in the file.

Fourth, mux it with the video stream. Here you have again various choices of tools for the container format. If you only have AVIs VirtualDub(Mod) is all you need.
Hope it helps.

i think it does. as when you are doing video edits you can use a slider to allow or disallow the sound to come from the video
or the audio wav you have inbeded in your edit of the video. that slider i think is just giving more or less replaygain to the audio tracks, which would make it sound more from the video.

i wish all televison stations in the UK would use that slider they make a show then get stupid with the background music and
it is so loud you can't here the commentater in the show.

but that sounds like what the lever for that sound is to me :)

Is ReplayGain even available for videos? I had secretly hoped for it, but doubt it existed.

eq settings have not been enabled for video in mm 4 yet,
so maybe the replay gain has not been enabled yet either.
