What you are downloading is an installer. It can be named anything, the files that are installed will always be named the same. Doesn't matter if you download the file and rename it to "49857249857.exe", the filenames after the installation will not change.

Ah, that explains that. It's just that a former MM3 debug version I installed was called MediaMonkey_Debug.exe. Crisis averted! :)

Debug installs as MediaMonkey.exe.

Names of all files of regular and debug are same. Difference is only inside the files.

Well if it doesn't uninstall the other version, won't you end up with both MediaMonkey.exe and MediaMonkey_Debug.exe in the MM directory?

No, you install on top of each other, that is how it works.

And is each one programmed to look out for and uninstall the other, because with different names they certainly can't install over the top of each other?

Both install the exact same way, so you can install debug on top of regular and regular on top of debug.

Thanks for clearing that up. One more thought springs to mind: if a Debug version is installed, will the next full/alpha version install over the top considering the file names are different, or will a clean old fashioned uninstallation need to be done first? :)

It doesn't affect in any way. Your license is valid in beta builds as well. The debug version is slightly slower due to bug reporting, but otherwise both are the same. The user is given a choice as to which version they want to use.

Nice one! :D I've subscribed as suggested. But how does beta testing affect/restrict etc. an unlimited licence when installing over the top? Also, I noticed that there is a Debug version available as well. I've used one before and can't understand why the debug features aren't included as standard. What am I overlooking? :-?

Here you go. This is where all of the beta builds are posted. Subscribe to that forum.

Uh? :-? Do you mean v.4.0.3.1490? I have 4.0.3.1476, which, as far as I can tell, is the latest. If not, then what, where and how? :o

This bug appears to be fixed in build 1490 for me. Nice work! And thanks.

Good to know it's in hand. :) But by regressions do you mean additional issues or some kind of coding reversal? Whichever it is, is it too early for any detail on that? Just a hint!
