When MM crashes for you, do you get a search window when you restart MM instead of the splash screen, which requires you to Cancel the search to open the MM browser?

Something like this: Image

Hi,

Thank you for your advice, I've updated to the latest beta version and so far *cross fingers* it has been working brilliantly. I've done mass tagging/adding to playlists/editing genres etc etc, small edits, added new music, and so forth and it hasn't crashed.

Many thanks,

Matthew

What is your hardware (cpu/memory) and drive space like?
FIrst thing I would do is get the latest beta and install that as a beta. Then import say 1-2K .. still having problems?

The other thing you should do when ever you have a real problem .. do the debug log and create a support ticket. See my signature for a link to how to create a debug log.

Constantly crashing

Hi,

I've recently moved from iTunes to MediaMonkey which I've found to be a far superior/powerful programme in all aspects except one; it constantly crashes!

It doesn't matter whether I am adding songs/albums to playlists, editing album properties, auto-tagging from the net or managing collections sooner or later MM will freeze and I have to close it down which usually ends up with any recent changes being lost. Several times I have been in a cycle of: start up MM - do a few edits/add albums - MM crashes - close it down and repeat all afternoon/evening.

I have tried different skins as I have read that may cause problems but that has made no impact. I have also read about log files but cannot find where on the software they are created/can be viewed.

I am using version 1751 with Windows 7.

Any suggestions on what to look for?

Matthew
