Lyricator v1.5.5 (2022-11-25)

Does Lyricator need admin rights to run? I keep getting the following error:

Error #70 - Microsoft VBScript runtime error
Permission denied
File: "C:\Users\*******\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\Lyricator.vbs", Line: 323, Column: 6

and then:

Code: Select all

Error happened during script execution:
Permission denied

Genius searches produce a lot of crap at the moment for many albums like this at the start:

Lyricator 1.5.5 and MediaMonkey 4.0.31.1919.

Lyricator only supports items in your library. It uses information stored in the music database, not in the MP3 tags.

I have not had a whole lot of time to work on Lyricator for quite some time, but I had a hour over a holiday break to look into this and have fixed the issue. Version 1.5.5 can be downloaded from the MediaMonkey add-ons or it hopefully should be available from the check for updates in the next week.

At the moment the only way would be to edit the script-files.
There is an option (Attempt all artists). If this is activated Mediamonkey will also search for CONDUCTOR, COMPOSER, LYRICIST and VARIOUS but to my knowledge not for ALBUMARTIST.

Lyricator sends search-requests for all the different artists without success and is successfull with all tracks after stripping the artist to "Tim McGraw", which takes a lot of time and unnecessary search requests.

Lyricator still uses LyricsWikia and Songcoleta as source.

Lyricswikia is gone since 2 years and does not exist anymore.
Songcoleta does not seem to exist either anymore.

I am not certain if this helps, but when the display is not quite right I close Lyricator then right click Auto-Tag from Web. Close this and re-run Lyricator. Normally this Lyricator display is then correct.

I can usually get it to correctly load just by right clicking the highlighted tracks and running Lyricator again without even closing the bad popup window.

It appears to be a timing issue of some sort where the page loads before loading the .css and .js files. seeing as they are all local files, i'm not sure why this would ever be an issue. though having the plugin now running in Edge instead of IE could have something to do with it.
