Devices that decline usage/installation of Google services are not capable to use many many Google services (Android Auto included) Amazon Store like Lowlander said is Alternative to buy MMA Pro for such devices and MMA on Amazon Store do not have any services that require Google Services to function.

NOTE: Many custom OS do not have Google Services installed (Cable provider STBs for example) but are capable to sideload Amazon Store and enjoy purchased apps.

Not everyone uses the Google Play store, for those that don't the Amazon App store is an alternative option.

Nailed it. Uninstalled Amazon MMA, installed Goolge MMA. Working now. Thank you.

Why is the Amazon version even posted? The only reason I installed it from Amazon in the first place was because the MMA Pro license I bought/installed was not being recognized by Google MMA. So I bought the Pro license again, this time from Amazon and the Pro license from Amazon was recognized by their version of MMA.

MMA from Amazon just needs to be taken down if one of the main features of MMA Android does not work/sync to the car. Totally f'd up and a serious waste of time. I'll just stay with version of MMA without my Pro license being recognized so my MMA and Android Auto will talk to each other. Way more valuable.

It all looks like the version from the Amazon store is still installed, which doesn't support AndroidAuto.
Please send Logs via Options/Help/Send Logs and
write down the log ID and I will verify it.

If it's a Google version, we'll have to wait until version 2.0.1 comes out, which has all the related libraries updated to the latest version(maybe that's the reason).

Thank you for you response. I tried it on my wife's car (not a BMW) and MMA did not show on there either. Yes my settings are the same as your, other than MMA does not show anywhere on my customizer screen as yours does. I think that is the problem in itself.

Tested on friends Honda and MMA showed normally.

Do you have those settings for Android Auto set on your Phone?

I understand MM Pro is just the license. Tracking 100%

After testing with other programs, the issue is not related to the BMW Android Auto app. It is with MM.

I am on Android 14. Samsung S24 Ultra. Here are the screenshots with the settings as unrestricted as I make them. What has been missed?

I do not have BMW to test on, a friend of mine that have one do not have any issues (MOTO Edge 40 Pro).

Some users report that steps previously described are still working.

Can you try again.

Please note taht MMA Pro is just unlocker app not real MMA and teher should be no difference. At least that is with my friends car.

MMA Pro had not be registering MMA for about a year. I just gave up on it and used the non-Pro version. Fast forward to all the Android Auto issues. MMA used to show up in the car after our Feb 13 thread (this one). I followed the directions you outlined and it worked from then on. I had to reload MMA on my phone because of sync issues. Got sick of trying to fix all the gremlins here and there.

So reloaded and followed the unknown app instructions you outline. No joy. I have tried it exactly how you laid out, didn't work. I tried it modified ways and it never took. Very very frustrated.

Ugh back in the same spot again. Pro was not linking to main program, so I uninstalled and reinstalled again. Phone good to go. Media Monkey Android/BMW iDrive 8.5 not talking again. Followed the instructions per Peke's last post but they did not work. I have not been able to get MM to populate to the car. Peke....

Have you tried to enable Unknown apps?

1. Open Android Auto on phone.
2. Click hamburger icon at top left -> Settings.
3. Scroll to Version at bottom and tap ~10 times to unlock Developer Mode.
4. Click kebab icon at top right -> Developer settings.
5. Scroll to bottom and enable “Unknown sources”
6. Exit and re-open Android Auto.
7. Try again on BMW
