I cannot describe the warm joy I felt when I saw this on my Mac, not boxed into a VM and glitching... Thank you. Oh wait, can't upload images... ok, you'll just have to believe how nice it looks!

So excited to see you are working on the Mac version of MediaMonkey. I first found MediaMonkey originally when I was still looking for something to work with my 1st iPod back in 2004-2005. iTunes didn’t work for me then, and I was a fan of Winamp, MediaMonkey gold was the perfect solution then, I so look forward to the Mac version. ThankYou, ThankYou, ThankYou!!!!!
Eagerly waiting for the Mac version! Ready to purchase a new Gold license again!

Yip. Agree that Apple Music is not an enjoyable experience, especially for someone use to focusing on their own music and genres; having Apple constantly maneuvering to sell you the latest "hotness" is annoying.

As for MMM, I also look forward to it. I hit the repeat limit on the free version of Pandora and the same songs are playing constantly.

And to Media Monkey developers, know that even though I paid for a Gold subscription for MMW I do not expect it to transfer to a MacOS platform. I'm gladly going to be paying for the Gold license for MMM when it comes out. Hopefully soon. I did not expect I'd miss the music so much when switching to Mac, it was such an integrated experience when working on Windows.

Not MM's fault at all, just something I really did not expect; there not being a decent media player of music on the Mac. Who knew this was an actual issue for Mac?

Thanks! This is exciting news to hear. I am in the process of moving from Windows to MAC, and this was one of the things that I wasn't happy about, no MediaMonkey! The Apple Music app is... frustrating to say the least (at least to a new MAC user).

Hi all,

Thanks for all the feedback about the Mac version. We're dedicating as much time and effort as possible to this project so that we can start beta testing of it in the near future. Our plan now is to begin testing the first release of MediaMonkey for macOS (MMM) at the same time as we start testing the next major release of MediaMonkey for Windows (MMW).

For those of you who've been patiently waiting--thanks for your understanding. For those who are a little less patient, I appreciate that we can provide more guidance--it's just that we're a small team and it's tricky balancing our efforts between MMW, MMA, and MMM and based on past experience we try to avoid making commitments when there's too much uncertainty. In any case, the status of the MMM build is that we've resolved most of the remaining macOS platform showstoppers this past week, and hope to do an internal round of testing over the next week or so so that we can begin open testing in April.

Regards,
Rusty

I completely agree that there is no excuse for personal attacks on the developers. At the same time, I think much of the community’s frustration (myself included) stems from a lack of clear, predictable communication. If expectations were managed with more transparency, we might see fewer of these heated reactions. We all care about the product, which is why it's so discouraging to see the same status for years. If resources are the bottleneck, perhaps the team could consider expanding or even opening up specific modules for community contribution?

Thank you, seen that too many times in past on so many products, especially the over hyped games.

Although the developers can defend themselves if they want, I just felt it time to say as a user that while many of us are waiting for this exciting eventual release, the developers have shown themselves over the years to be careful and thoughtful. A damn sight smarter than users who have no understanding of the stupidity of careless alpha or beta releases, and the reputational risks of releasing a bad product.
