My notes on SACD ISO CDs:

Media Monkey 4 and 5 do not appear to directly support the Sony / Phillips Super Audio CDs and I am not aware of any add-in to provide this support.

Super Audio CDs typically contain audio tracks with a 2CH file extension with the ISO file. ISO is the disk image file system used with CDs. 2CH files are a two-channel direct stream digital audio (but can support up to 6 channels!). The encoding of these 2CH files is 16-Bit with 44.1 kHz sampling. The files can be opened with either VLC or FooBar – in the case of Foobar additional components are needed. These are the foo_dsd_processor and foo_input_sacd that are not on the official components web site but can be found at Source Forge.net.

In the case of FooBar the approach seems to work best by opening the ISO file and then converting the tracks using the default conversion to WAV format. Media Monkey can read the WAV files which can therefore be played, converted to your preferred format and tags edited. If converting to FLAC format from WAV, then 16-Bit / 24-Bit and 48000 Hz is adequate. Some tag editing may be better done after conversion as WAV does not support tagging a well as FLAC.

This implies that I have "converted" some SACDs to FLAC at some point in the past! Hope this helps.

Hi,
Not sure what you mean by that. I have tested on Normal CDs Not SACD and Ripped CD to WAV, then Burned CD using WAV and them Ripped Burned CD to WAV, now I compared WAV Audio Data from First RIP with Second WAV Rip and they were Bit Perfect.
I am not developing SACD support, but can you explain what you meant by Target Audience?

I think the way you are thinking depends on your target customers, that is if you have targets. You sound like you are developing this as a hobby. I wish you good luck.

Hi,
There is no direct plans to load ISO files as DSD, but MM supports DSD file playback.

Maybe you can find way to directly convert ISO to DSD (https://www.google.com/search?q=iso+to+ ... 8&oe=utf-8) like this https://www.sonore.us/iso2dsd.html but this is based on trials and errors to see best solution.

Personally I think Archiving ISO files is bit out dated as it is proven that using some lossless formats can create 99.99% identical CD from original (Hash calculations proves that).

Do you have plans to support SACD image files (.iso) in the near future?

Yes I think that foobar had it.

One of MediaMonkey's competitors has that feature. Just a keeping up with the competition. Maybe current MediaMonkey users have no need for it. Not really a big deal. Would be a nice addition in my opinion.

Not that I'm aware of. There is no official support of playback from ISO files. On the other hand DTS playback is in consideration.

Any chance this functionality is added to MMW5?
