MediaMonkey offers the choice to the user, 2 different Licenses are available for purchase.

You can purchase a version License, which is only valid for any releases for that version (a 2024.x license is valid for all 2024 releases) and a Lifetime License, which is valid for the version you bought it for, but also for future versions.

When a new version is released the old version does not stop working and can continue to be used. It will no longer receive updates from MediaMonkey, but can be still be used with your Gold License.

I purchased the 4.X Gold License thinking that I would receive updates forever. BOOM. Outcomes 5.X and I'm being asked to buy another license. I have a better idea, why don't you just tell customers up front that you Gold license is worth nothing, only the version that you bought. Will never purchase again and will warn all potential customers about your shady business practice.
