MM has a great sound since the beginning I don't think that needs to be changed.

Wondering what you mean by disappointed .. right now watching a film and the ending credits has the great jazz bit. You can hear the brushes scrap across the cymbals, the callouses across the bass strings and the hammer striking the strings on the piano. Sounds pretty sweet to me and I can be fussy :)

Getting the best sound from mediamonkey

I just tried the Studio Sound FX (free) from QOlabs ... link here : http://www.qolabs.com/audioburst/StudioFX/index.htm

The sound is simply awesome .. you have to try it to believe.

I've been trying other plugins such as BBE ot DFX for several months but this beats it ...

Studio sound FX gives you clarity, bass & sound stage without distortion, even at high volumes

Hope this helps those guys who are disappointed with mediamonkey's default sound as I was in the beginning.

Just a small note : For installation you have to install winamp, install the studio sound fx plugin, then copy
the output plugin from the winamp subdirectory to the mediamonkey plugin subdirectory ... Then you can
remove winamp once everything is installed ... Be sure to switch the output plugin to "AudioBurst FX system"
after installation ...
