I reinstall MM5, and clicked the funnel for the 1st time. ... I didn't get a pre-filled filter row. ... and I don't miss having one btw. I can see the "+" button.

I see what you are saying, but IMO it is not very useful. ... OK you have saved one click from a multi-click action ... but it just makes me think that there is a bug, or I had forgotten to do something last time. ... I don't know how to reliably reproduce, but sometimes it is empty, ie. your restored pre-load doesn't work, which makes the situation more confusing.

You restore, and re-activate, a filter which I [i]explicitly deleted[/i] ... ie. I had the choice if just turning filtering off, and leaving the specification sitting there ... or I could have just disabled that filter criteria with the check box if I thought that it may be useful later ... in those cases I would have expected what you did ... but I explicitly deleted it. ... and if wanted to restore it, I could recall it from the Recently Used list.

It is no big deal. But it is not much use either IMO.

As for the empty genre list: this will be fixed in 2149

Re <Album artist> : yes, it added "Unknown" because you had empty album artist field because of the bug https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15339 , i.e. it was consequence of #15339 that is fixed in 2149

I don't think that the problem is that I am not patient enough. ... it never returns from the 1st or 2nd click. .... maybe it works better obce you have primed things by using a Genre Equal filter previously ... I was working with a fresh install

I did try <Album Artist> ... nb. see I used upper case in [b]A[/b]rtist ... it didn't use the album artist tag value .. it created a path named Unknown\<album title>\

In Devices&Services>GPM>AllTracks you show me that GPM has AlbumArtist, Composer & track# tags for these tracks.

The default for this config item contains the suffix "<Artist>\<Album>\<Title>" ... this is useful as it auto-organises any downloads
There is a browse button to set a custom location ... if this is used the suffix is not retained. ... and the tool tip does not document the existence of suffix facility, nor its syntax.
So if someone customises to a tailor location they can easily accidentally lose the auto-organisation of downloads, and there is no clue showing how to reset it.

Also why is <albumartist> not accepted in the suffix? ... This causes a problem ... If an album has some tracks by an artist who is different to the albumartist (ie. this often happens in soundtracks; the main soundtrack is written by a composer, but some tracks feature some other artist) ... in this case there is a separate artist/album path for the main composer, and one for each of the feature artists ... and in the case of an entirely mixed artist album, the whole album is split into separate folders.
