I would suggest to use latest version local fork or latest compiled one supplied.

As for stability I have found that it is stable on smaller number of tracks and when there is no multiple devices and conversions.

Yet it still crash from time to time and fail to play tracks. MM5 is way more stable.

Is MM Server stable enough to use with a Synology NAS and Google ChromeCast Audio or should I just continue to use Audio Station? Or should I use an older version of MMS?
