Re: Error Executing SQL statement

Per the instructions I learned a year or two ago, to share the MM database among several client PCs, I moved the MM ini file from Docs and Settings to the MM program folder. So the reinstall did restore the default setup.

Re: Error Executing SQL statement

I have probably spoiled the experimental investigation, but I do have it working now. I was too lazy to reverse the changes to the content and location of the ini file, so I just reinstalled MM to restore the default local setup and pointed it at the music folders on the WHS. Now no issues at all. T...

Re: Error Executing SQL statement

no, wired 1gb ethernet, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Error Executing SQL statement

OK I was hoping to avoid that as it will get out of sync with the 'master' on the WHS, which serves two other PCs

But I'll give it a go tomorrow to test the result.

Thanks again for such fast comments.

Re: Error Executing SQL statement

Thanks, I don't think it can be security software related, as the setup on the notebook is pretty much the same as two other PCs on the home network, neither of which display the issue. On the other hand clearly the database is not updating, eg Last played. I was able to edit tags though. So it seem...

Error Executing SQL statement

My regular HTPC failed recently and I have temporarily installed an old-ish x86 notebook running XP SP3. I run MM from a WHS, with the music and MM database on the server, and the local ini file moved to the local MM program folder with a line addded to the ini pointing to the database on the server...

Re: Slimdevices Squeezebox / Squeezecenter Support (Plugin) or D

I would certainly be willing to pay for an application which let me use MediaMonkey to control the output from a Squeezebox in addition to MM's current functionality.

Re: WASAPI plug-in for Vista

Wasapi exclusive mode in MM4 huh?

Now that is exciting news.

Looking forward to having that very much indeed.

Re: Shifting to new home server (NAS)

Thank you. I did some experimenting on some lossy files which were not as well organised as the flacs. I am very impressed at the functionality. It reorganised about 2,000 files very quickly and without problem. So for others who have been reluctant to try it, I strongly recommend it after being a l...

Re: Shifting to new home server (NAS)

Thanks for quick response. I have never used auto organise before, as it looks so powerful it could be dangerous to make a mistake, but it is clearly time to get over that  Anyway I use a standard genre > artist > album > tracknumber-trackname structure, so it hasn't been needed. So to see if ...

Shifting to new home server (NAS)

I run MM on three PCs around the house, with the library and database hosted on a NAS. I am about to replace the NAS with a Tranquil SQA-5H unit running Windows Home Server. Because all the music will have a new address when copied to the new box, does this mean I have to rescan the library? The dir...

Re: WASAPI plug-in for Vista

Now that is some positive news at last, even if it is months or a year away. As I keep saying, if MM makes it easy to get bit perfect output with all the main operating systems "out of the box", then Foobar will no longer need to exist, as MM beats it wholesale on every issue except that o...

Sounds brilliant to me!

What do the developers think?
