Re: Same album art showing mutiple times
Oh, sorry... I get it now. You just mean Album and Album Artist should be consistent across files, not that they should be the same as one another. But yes, those values are absolutely identical across files.

Re: Same album art showing mutiple times
You mean Artist and Album Artist, I assume? They're already the same.Make sure Album and Album Artist have the same values for all the files on the Album.
Thanks for merging the threads. I wasn't sure if I should've necro'd a year-old thread - some forums frown upon that.

Re: Sort by album artist in MMA
I'll second/third this as a recommendation for future development. It's important to my use case. Music dinosaurs like me still think of music in terms of albums and not individual tracks. I have a number of compilation albums/sets that I tag "Various Artists" for Album Artist while retain...

Re: "Stacked" album art?
Thanks for the reply, Peke. Is there anything I can do to retag the files so that they display properly? I tried wiping out all but the most basic tags in MMW. Also wiped the original artwork and readded that in MMW too. But then all the MP3's I sync were created by MMW in the first place, convertin...

"Stacked" album art?
This is the same issue referenced here a year back, which didn't get much discussion. I'm not sure if this is happening for everybody or if it's something about my setup. Is this really intended behavior? It seems like awful UI. If there's only a single album for an artist then MMA should only displ...

Re: Support for multiple artwork files?
Ah... never mind. I see it mentioned here that there can only be one artwork file per album directory. Could've sworn I read that article earlier too.
No big deal, though it would be cool to have hundreds of albums worth of liner notes in my pocket.

Support for multiple artwork files?
Long time MMW user here, but only just installed MMA. (Yay for new phone that's not 6 years old!) Does MMA support multiple artwork files like MMW does? I scan all of my CD booklets and can view those files in MMW. I sync'd a couple of test albums to the phone and the main cover art is fine, but I d...

Re: Album Art Scroll
If it's any easier to implement, just being able to right-click on the enlarged view and get the same image selection dialog that you do in the album art pane would be nearly as good as scrolling. But I don't know if that's any easier internally.

Scrolling through multiple art files in an album
I found this old thread on the idea, but AFAICT it was never implemented. But it would be great to be able to easily scroll through multiple pieces of album art for a single album. I listen to mostly jazz and classical albums with lots of text-heavy liner notes that I scan to JPGs and drop in the fi...

Re: Tagging Sort Artist for iPod?
OK, thanks. I'll have to go back and retag all my artist names back to the "Dylan, Bob" style, but I can live with that. Can you (or anyone else) elaborate on why exactly this doesn't work? Unlike album art, I thought iTunes actually did write this information in the ID3 tag. Is it a diffe...

Tagging Sort Artist for iPod? [#9064][#2915]
I'm not sure this is a MM issue per se, but I'm not sure where else to ask... When I used iTunes to manage my music library, I could set a "Sort Artist" field to sort "Bob Dylan" as "Dylan, Bob" while retaining the display name of "Bob Dylan". But after repopu...

Re: Dual libraries possible?
After exploring a bit more, I don't see a big benefit to setting up convert-on-sync. I sync my entire library to the iPod - it's a 160GB Classic that was purchased just to have the whole library in the car. It's just as easy to add the FLAC's to the library first and then convert those to MP3's and ...

Re: Help me understand album art
OK, thanks. It looks like Sonos supports embedded art up to 1024x1024, which is way higher than I'd use anyway. So just embedding the front cover image should work fine for my purposes. I wish I knew that iTunes had a nonstandard album art scheme before I spent so much time cleaning up my library la...

Help me understand album art
I get that album art is one of those places where proprietary differences make everything complicated, but I'm hoping not to waste a bunch of time doing this the wrong way and could use some guidance. I want to tag a bunch of FLAC's and MP3's in such a way that they'll work correctly with MM, with m...
