Are you concerned about the ripping or the encoding, or both? For encoding, MM uses LAME, I think, which is pretty damn good. For ripping itself, I'm not sure what MM uses, if not it's own home-brew code. Many people like using Exact Audio Copy (EAC), although it does require some setup and knowled...
