Re: Ipod alternative?

Hey together, i want to buy a new MP3 player with about 8gb space. who can tell me what is the best ipod alternative. I have a Sony NWZ-A818 (8GB) flash player, and I've been very pleased with it. I originally had the 4GB version of the player, and liked it so much that I upgraded to the 8GB versio...

Re: Sync checked songs only

I agree that a checkbox function would be a nice option to add to MediaMonkey. When I was using iTunes it was an easy way for me to control the music loaded on my player and I used it until I came up with a better way to control the music loaded on my player (see below). However, I think that using ...

Re: The Best MP3 Player For Syncing With MM

I will provide what help I can. Sorry if it is a bit wordy. I can only speak about Sony players that I have. I have the following players (all are flash players): NWZ-A818 (8GB), NWZ-A816 (4GB), and NWZ-E438 (8GB). Each of these players works very well with MediaMonkey (MM). Music and playlists sync...

Re: Loading A Playlist's Songs Without Loading The Playlist

Can't this already be done? http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/7708/synctracksandplaylistsdgw3.jpg I checked the options that you pointed out, and it looks like it is an all-or-nothing option (all/none of the playlists you choose to sync to your player). The main advantage of the requested option f...

Loading A Playlist's Songs Without Loading The Playlist

I use playlists to control the music loaded on my player. One of the criteria I use is to load only rated songs on my player. A feature I'd like to see added to future MediaMonkey releases is the ability to sync the songs from a playlist to my player without putting the playlist itself on my player.

Re: I switched to MediaMonkey, and this is why...

My reason for switching to MediaMonkey is simple: I've found it to be the best all-around application for working with my audio collection both on my computer and with/on my player. Among the features I like are the way it handles album art, allows me to organize my music library the way I want, wor...

Re: Multiple Artists, ';' separator, etc. - discussion

Another possibility that might be better is to use the straight quotes ( " ) to enclose the names of each individual artist/group in a multiple artist/group list. Example: If the artists for a song are Queen and David Bowie they would be written as: "Queen" "David Bowie". If the entry doesn't conta...

Re: Multiple versions of a song - Sensible Solution

I've had a similar problem in my collection. In addition to multiple versions of the same song (both by the same artist and also by different artists), I also have a few instances of songs with the same name, but are different songs (such as with the song "The End Of The World" by Skeeter Davis and ...

Re: Multiple Artists, ';' separator, etc. - discussion

This is an interesting thread. I agree with other posters that it is likely that there is no solution that will please everyone, but the following is my opinion. As far as the character used to separate multiple artists, like at least one other poster I think the pipe symbol ( | ) is the best choice...

Re: Have you collected more music then you wanted?

This sums me up pretty well. I have around 1.5TB of FLAC/MP3, the majority of which I hardly listen to. I like the idea mentioned above about a split library - how can you get Mediamonkey to do this ? As far as I know, having two libraries is not a feature available from MediaMonkey. What I do is m...

Re: Have you collected more music then you wanted?

Like you, I have a fairly large collection, one that I've ripped from my own CDs. But what has really caused my collection to explode is the addition of podcasts to my library. What I've taken to doing is to divide my entire collection into two libraries: Active and Inactive. My Active Library conta...

I don't have my entire collection tagged with album art, only the files that I load on my player.

Re: How do you organize your music?

I organize my files in a very basic manner: / Album Artist / Album / [Track Names] The reason I use the Album Artist instead of the Artist is that when I'm tagging tracks I use Artist to show the individual/individuals/act who performed on each specific song. I use the Album Artist to list the indiv...

Re: rating tracks - is it worth it?

Although I'm late to the topic, I'll add my comments. I think that it is worth it to take the time to rate at least some of your tracks. One of the main things that I use ratings for is to control the tracks that are loaded on my player. Simply put, only rated tracks are loaded on my player. As far ...
