I think I had this one time with a corrupted file. This sounds similar. Have you tried excluding that album (assuming it's the same album that keeps hanging up) by moving it to another folder temporarily? Also, try to import just that album and see if it hangs. Does that album play ok on another pla...

I haven't seen that on the song title. I know when you sort on Artist, MM ignores the "The" and sorts "The Police" as if it started with "P". This can be controlled under Tools/Options/Appearance. So the "The" just disappears, even when you look in Properties? Are you doing anything like tagging fro...

Interesting - I went into iTunes and did a mass change of the entire library to set the volume sliders to 0db. It reset them, but did not change the analyzer level tag set by Media Monkey. iTunes must store the value exclusively in the database. Thanks for the tips on the scripts! I would definitely...

How do I reset the volume levelling tag?

Hi All, I just recently used the MM volume analyzer function (not levelling, just analyzing) for my entire collection. Unfortunately this is wreaking havoc when using iTunes. The iTunes sliders on much of my library have moved to -100% or +100%. I used 89db (which I think is the default). It works w...

Sorry to hear you lost your library. I'm sure you've done things like searched your hard drive for *.mdb just on an off chance you backed up the libary at some time in the past. Did you check your recycle bin? Just a thought. This does you no good now, but for what it's worth, I have a Windows sched...

Script to allow extended tags to be used in iTunes

Hi All. I'm using Media Monkey as my primary software to handle my music, but still use iTunes to manage my iPod. I may eventually switch to have MM handle my iPod, but prefer iTunes at the present time. I'd like to be able to use the extended tag information (tempo, mood, occasion, custom tags) in t...

Any update on this issue of the language code being set to xxx on the comments tag?
Or if not, is there a batch utility to set these?
Thanks.

Yeah, this whole ratings thing is difficult when you switch between media players. Some store it exclusively in their database (Musicmatch, iTunes), some store it in the POPM tag, others like Media Monkey store it in both. POPM stores both rating and playcount. It's further complicated by having to ...

Yep, MM stores the ratings in the "Ratings" column of the "Songs" table and allows values (0 - 100). It actually allows values other than 10, 20, 30, etc as indicated in the parenthesis below, in case you want to differentiate between stuff you rated with T&R vs stuff you rated directlly in MM. Alth...

If I understand your question correctly, you want to have Media Monkey put the CD name (Club-Tribal 1-A) in the Album field of each song. If your files are named consistently, then you can do this after you import into Media Monkey, by simply opening the properties for all tracks on a CD, and clicki...

Not sure about the DJ thing other than telling MM to allow multiple instances then somehow assigning each instance to a different channel of the soundcard. As far as the ratings, they are not stored in the ID3 tag. Winamp stores the ratings in their database: C:\Program Files\winamp\plugins\ml\main....

Flakey MM player?

Hi All, I'm switching over to MM so I'm still learning. I like it for the most part, but the player seems really buggy. When I'm playing a song, then double-click on the next song in the library, issues arise: 1) The next song often starts in the same location as the previous song (if the first song...

Skin installation

Hi all, I'd like to try other skins with MM, but after reading the instructions in MM help, I'm unclear as to how to install additional skins. - I went to Tools/Options/Appearance/Skin and clicked on "Download more skins...". - I then clicked on Download for the "Brushed Steel" skin, and downloaded ...
