Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

So the same problem popped up in another file. This problem has been occurring with files that are on my desktop, which is running the backup copy of my music library (on two, 2TB hard drives). I am typing this on my laptop, and figured I would copy the potentially bad file to my laptop to run it th...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

Well, I just deleted the tracks and reripped the disc. After adding the new tracks to the library, the track played all the way through. I suppose there must have been something wrong with the track (or something in its causing an issue in MM), though it wasn't apparent what the issue was. CUETools ...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

Did you try changing output plugin like lowlander recommended? It might make a difference for you. It was set to the MM plugin; the only other option is Waveout. Is there a reason that might be better? It doesn't look it. Doesn't have the same configuration options either. Anyhow, I just tried it. ...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

keep the registry cleaned and defragmented and keep the hard drive defragmented and cleaned of junk files. and your computer should be in working order for the whole time the motherboard lasts. my win98 system lasted 10 yrs with last 7 of those running mediamonkey 24/7 on full automatic mode everyt...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

Found bookmarking, thanks. I wasn't using any filters, so it took me a while to find where it was, under "general music." It wasn't checked. I also clicked on the link in the fourth post regarding problematic files, but my files are all FLAC, so it is not an mp3 file problem. Frankly I wonder if it'...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

This problem persists. Nine-minute track played only till about halfway through, then it jumped to track two. Very frustrating. I went looking for the bookmarking option -- I didn't have it. I realized it is perhaps because on my desktop computer (as opposed to my original laptop) I think I have onl...

Re: Tracks not playing in full in Media Monkey

I am now experiencing this too, alas. Halfway through one track the program just decides to jump to the next. Nothing wrong with the file; in fact when I went back and played it again it went through the whole of it. Unfortunately though I am not following the point about bookmarking. Where is the o...

I had not! In fact, I didn't even know there was such a setting, and that it was the default. Thank you, Lowlander, issue resolved! Piano sonatas are beautiful and complete again! You are DA MAN! :D

Tracks not playing in full (not crossfade issue)

Apologies in advance as I suspect this is something others have confronted before, but after a reasonable (I think) search I could not find anything on this specific issue I am facing. Crossfade is OFF. And I have downloaded the script for "silence between songs" (glad to have found it, btw). Howeve...

Re: Original Date

Thanks, Lowlander. I figured that's what was going on. Kind of a bummer as the info is useful in that slot. Oh well. I suppose one alternative is to go back and put it all in the comments, but I'm kind of past that point now. The DB copying method doesn't look too intimidating, even for a non-expert...

Original Date

I have MediaMonkey running on three computers, each with roughly the same library of tracks. One is my master, working version, where I add and modify tracks and tags. The other two are "playing" versions, at home and work respectively. What they really are are my backup copies of the library, but I...

Re: Access violation

I'm playing very little if any Apple-encoded stuff (it's almost all FLAC), so I just uninstalled QuickTime. Problem (temporarily at least) solved. Thanks Lowlander.

Re: Access violation

This just started happening to me too tonight, a couple times. Why now? No clue what it is trying to tell me. Here's what happened: I go to edit track properties and after hitting enter, I get the following pop-up error message, with that "doink" sound: "Access violation at address 004F2E8E in modul...

Re: Recurring Playback Problem -- Playback Stops.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've decided (can't say "determined" -- that would be too strong a word, implying I have strong evidence) the problem is with my laptop, not MM or any option therein. It happened one time when I touched the computer and literally got shocked -- playback stopped in the mi...

Re: Recurring Playback Problem -- Playback Stops.

No; there's nothing wrong with the tracks as far as I can tell. If they don't play, they play when I reboot (or on VLC).
