Re: Using C# with MM

I always wanted to see someone not so much code against mm but write a open source project that simply wraps the mm SQLite database to provide functionality like being able to copy an auto playlist from one machine to another. Or create auto playlists in the library that can do nested sub queries (c...

Need auto-playlist export/import, anyone?

Can someone write a script that will generate 2 menu options: 1) Export autoplaylist(s) 2) Import autoplaylist(s) Whereby if you select "Export" it will pop up a list of my autoplaylists with checkboxes, upon submit it will generate a text file that I can then walk over to another machine and do an ...

How to turn off the automatically generated playlists

I have the option to generate playlists after a scan un-checked in the options... However every time I rescan MM generates the imported playlists again. The problem is it generates 17,000 playlists here and that is too many playlists to display in various remote control software. Also it takes my co...

Trouble exporting an auto playlist to another computer

I'm trying to export my auto playlists so I could copy them to another computer, however when I use the export playlists script it seems to be changing my auto playlists into something called "m3u" files where all the songs are hard-coded. I need to export the autoplaylists so that they still behave...

Does MM work ok on a surface pro?

I was thinking of getting a Microsoft surface Pro tablet. Will MM install and operate on the surface pro? I believe the Surface Pro is Windows 8, so it should work right?

How to change the location path of MM.DB?

I know this has probably been covered here before, but I did search the forum first but could not find a procedure. Also I looked at my MM ini file but could not find a parameter that specified the path to the MM.DB file. What I want to do is keep my MM.DB file on the NAS so 1 computer can be used f...

Re: NAS

Hi, Situation: I have 2 computers in two different rooms, and I have a NAS that both machines are networked to. What are my options for having just ONE MM library? If I did a portable install to the NAS will MM save ALL its "stuff" to the NAS? Stuff like ini, the database, playlists, virtual CD's, ...

How to turn off "thumbnail generation"

My M has been "generating thumbnails" for the past 3 days. Then every time I restart MM it starts "generating thumbnails" all over again from the beginning. How the heck do stop it from doing this? It seems to be using up precious CPU resources in doing this "useless" task. I really dont want thumbn...

Re: NAS

I have *tried* this but for me the big worry would be the possibility of 2 devices wanting to update a tag at the same time. If it isn't specifically defined as multi-user the possibility of losing changes exists. Also on my NAS box (a buffalo) it (accessing the db/ui) seemed slow. Multiple users p...

Re: NAS

I have all my music on a NAS. However, I long since gave up trying to *run* MM from the NAS. To make sure the mm.db file and other files are shared between machines on the network, I use synctoy. Dan Ive dedicated a laptop to live in my stereo rack, it just runs MM all day from the NAS potable inst...
