Upgrading bitrate of tracks & maintaining tag/playlist info?

Hi, I know this has been discussed here before but after doing some keyword searches I can't seem to locate the topic. I hope someone can point me in the right direction or, better yet, provide me with an answer to this. If I have tracks that I really like in my collection, and the bitrate is less t...

Re: Restoring MM data after reinstall, playlist data missing

Thanks, the script did it, after turning off File Monitor. Now my database has been restored, including all my playlists and the "Date Added" data. One last question now - since I'd like to turn File Monitor back on again for the folders that contain my music, is there any danger in doing ...

Re: Restoring MM data after reinstall, playlist data missing

This makes sense as I copied over the .ini file which did, indeed, have the File Monitor configured. So in order to properly import the database, I should simply turn OFF File Monitor BEFORE I copy the DB file to the proper directory, and not turn it back on until I've successfully opened it? I'll g...

Re: Restoring MM data after reinstall, playlist data missing

I've also discovered that the "Date Added" field has been reset to today's date - any way to recover that from the original database?

Restoring MM data after reinstall, playlist data missing

Hi all, I recently needed to reformat & reinstall Windows XP so I made an image of my entire hard drive and did the reinstall. After I installed MM 3.0.7, I followed the guidelines about restoring my database and located the files MM.DB, MediaMonkey.ini and mediamonkey.m3u from the image backup ...

MM freezes when USB drive is inserted

I'm using MM 3.07 and every time I insert a USB drive, whether it's a thumb drive or a 3.5" external drive, MM freezes. The drive cannot be accessed either. If I unplug the drive, MM returns to normal operation. It was happening in 3.02 as well, and on two different computers. My database lives...

I haven't seen any issues where the location node wouldn't show all tracks that are in that folder and in the library. Are you sure that the files are all stored in the same folder? Yes, I've confirmed that they all reside in the same folder. As for the Unsynchronized node, many have reported issue...

Understanding behavior of database

Greetings MM forum users, it's been a while since I've checked in here. I am an avid MM Gold user - wouldn't think of using anything else to manage my music library. Lately I've been doing a LOT of work to my database, looking up release dates and albums for many of the single tracks I've loved over...

Script to access info stored in "Included People"

Greetings scripting gurus, How difficult would it be to create a script to access the information stored in the "Included people" field on the Details tab? What I would like to do is to be able to store multiple names (separated by commas or semi-colons?) in this field which I could then u...

Thanks for a reply. One thing I wondered about - on the details page of a track's properties, there's a field for "included people". Can the data from this field be parsed? Is it possible to include more than one piece of information, separated by commas or semi-colons? If not, I may have ...
