Re: Moving files to another drive

If you do not want to undergo waiting for Auto Organize you can try these steps. 1. Close MMW (Make sure that MMW do not monitor New HDD) 2. COPY (Not move) Your files in One Go to new HDD 3. Rename your original folder so that MMW can't find old Path (eg. c:\Music\ -> C:\1Music) 4. Start MMW 5. Se...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

Oh, I misunderstood what you meant by "change to winamp". The good news is it works - while MM is still running. Using the "Winamp 2 or 5" setting makes it behave correctly. It calls the VLC executable and multiple files play. Unfortunately, when you launch MM again after the change, this happens: 1...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

I installed the latest version of Winamp (5.8 beta) that is at their web site. I can't find any setting or option to select VLC or any other executable for video playing. I've looked through all the options. How do I change this? Thanks.

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

I'm sorry if I sounded harsh. The reason is that I love Media Monkey and want to use it all my media needs. I'm not angry, just disappointed that my favorite music player and my favorite video player can't interoperate. I understand that writing a new video player with all the features of VLC would ...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

Well, it seems to me that it would be easier to spend 15 minutes looking up which system call Windows uses to launch multiple media than it would to write extra code to add one small feature (chapter support) to your existing video player. The potential exists to essentially add all the features of ...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

OK, I see where I made a mistake. I can add videos to the Now Playing list and have them play in order (though it should do it automatically when I click on them in the library, as it does with music tracks). BUT it only works with the internal player. When using an external player, it does not play...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

Just bumping this - are you able to play multiple videos in sequence in any way at all? If so, please tell me the steps. Thanks.

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

Thank you. I'm still a little unclear though. I went to the Playback Rules for Video and set them to be the same as Music, "Clear list and play selected and subsequent." It still only plays one video and stops. I tried dragging selected videos to the "Now Playing" pane and get the circle-and-slash c...

Re: Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

I am using whatever the most recent version of MM is - I always download the updates. So, version 4.? The files are MP4 videos. I don't use the "now playing" window for playing things. I just select whatever I want in the tree in the left pane (group of files, playlist, whatever) and play it from th...

Videos do not play in sequence in playlists

If I make a playlist of videos, MM just plays the first one and stops. Since the very definition of "playlist" is to play multiple files in sequence, this is a bug. MM should play all the media in a playlist in order (or shuffled if requested). This should be true for both the internal player and th...

Re: Playlists for external video players

I just checked an it appears that this behavior also happens with the *internal* player - for video playlists, it just plays one video and stops. It's not just external players. I call that a bug. Playing several files in a row is the very definition of a "playlist".

Playlists for external video players

I think it's great that MM allows me to use an external video player (VNC) since I need more features that the MM video player does not have. However, this feature does not support playlists. When I start a video playlist, it plays only the first video and then stops. The VLC playlist confirms that ...

Re: Metadata for Video Files

I suggest you backup the database regularly: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/63/0/how-to-backup-and-recover-a-mediamonkey-library Extra note: I do back up the database, but the problem is when drive letters and directories change - then it becomes a nightmar...

Re: Metadata for Video Files

Oh, I do back it up regularly. But I know from experience that deal with MM's database is a frigging NIGHTMARE. It's not just a simple matter of backing up one or two files and then replacing them if they get destroyed or damaged. That would be too easy. If that were the case I'd still have all my m...

Re: Enable MM to launch external video player

You're right, it is there and it does work. However that is for single files only. If you are watching a playlist of files, it will only watch the first one on the external player and stop. It would be much nicer if it either played them sequentially or passed all the filenames. At least with VLC th...
