Classification Automation?

Howdy all. Still enjoying my new purchase of MediaMonkey. I think it'll take me quite a while to find all the benefits. I've now got all my songs and albums in a more standard format and now I'm thinking about finally getting somewhere with playlists. In my music collection I only keep the singles r...

Right at this moment I have everything stored in Artist/Album/Track format. The negative of that is that all the compilation albums are broken up. Each such album is duplicated to appear under each Artist that is represented. I'm not sure how but I believe I can use MM to change that so that compila...

First I found a song that was clearly in a folder that was spelled incorrectly. I have a lot of TimeLife CD collections "Sounds of the Seventies: 1976". That sort of thing. I noticed that one song had part of that misspelled and then also noticed I could change the folder right in the Properties for...

3 songs won't copy?!

Guys, I finally got my 1636 single collection copied over to my iPod with the exception of 3 songs. I found the first one and suspect the other two share a similar problem. I was certain that I'd selected all the files but did do them in segments of the alphabet. The first one is "Foghat - Slow Ride...

A minor bit of data. I tried encoding the same exact song at both "Highest" and "High (Recommended)" quality settings. At high it took 33 seconds to encode and copy to the iPod. At highest it took exactly double that at 66 seconds. That's pretty significant. Double the time does beg the question of ...

That's my question too gab. I've chosen the highest quality there so I suspect that's my problem. I'm up to just over 1000 files now on the ipod with just over 600 to go so I might just finish out this way and then do some testing of those settings. I'm curious what the difference in speed is betwee...

Ah, I had that all set up. My mistake. I was clicking the left-most icon on the upper right believing it was the minimize button. Apparently it's a tray button. Never seen one of those before.

Minimize to taskbar not working.

Current version here (Gold) and it's not minimizing to the taskbar. No matter what I try the program always minimizes to the tray.

Is there a solution for this or is this a bug?

I'm converting on the fly from APE to MP3. Sveta did this as well and I was able to send 1600+ songs to the iPod in about 2 hours. Of course that's sort of what dbpoweramp is all about. I just didn't expect to drop down in speed this much. I also have the quality option turned up. I can't find that ...

Speed question

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I come to MediaMonkey from dbpoweramp. I was using their Sveta product to control my iPod. My main problem is that it has often managed to mess up the formatting of the iPod requiring a lot of wipes and re-installs. MediaMonkey I just registered and it looks like a treme...

Teknojnky, What impact does this have? Will I need to re-organize my library? In other words will changing Album Artist to "Various" be all I need to do or will all such compilations need to be stored in the same physical folder? Right now each artist has his own folder with the album below that. Th...

What are people doing to deal with links for the "Various Artists" issue? The Batch is working great when the artist is constant and it's not a compilation album but when you have a situation where you have to find the album art 20 times for the same album because there are two different artists (mu...

Are there per-device saved settings?

I'm trying to leave as much of dbpoweramp behind as possible with MediaMonkey. It's a decent program but for me it's just not working out as a good fit. I will need to keep it around until MediaMonkey supports many of the formats it does but that's fine. Anyway, it's portable device program, Sveta, ...

Ah, I'm using APE as my file format and apparently MM might not be able to store the image in the Tag (not all that familiar with APE's tagging limits) but changing the settings to storing a link works.
