The monitor runs as long as MediaMonkey is running.

Now if this doesn't work in your case you should file a debug log as described in the Bug Report forum. This will help the developers to see if they can solve this issue even if it's caused by the NAS.

You could copy the songs on the external drive to the virtualCD which in the options you can set to be on the network. Now MediaMonkey will see both copies as one and play which ever one is available.

what filetypes are giving this problem?

You should upgrade to MediaMonkey 2.5.4 and even consider MediaMonkey's latest RC release of 2.5.5 (Beta forum) as some issues have been worked on.

This means that you have deleted the songs outside of MediaMonkey. MediaMonkey doesn't auto-delete deleted songs.

You can delete the songs in the Files to Edit > Dead Links node and they will also disappear from playlists.

If you ripped the song with iTunes I assume you did it in the AAC format and not MP3. See this FAQ to add support for these files.

Do you edit the songs in MediaMonkey? If so, please explain how you do this as somehow you seem to be changing the filename. If you edit songs outside of MediaMonkey the problem is that you are changing the filename. You can do various things to solve this: - Have the File Monitor running while maki...

Yes it's a manual process in MediaMonkey, but there is some help. Go to the Files to Edit node where you can find to duplicate nodes that can help. Make sure you leave one copy of the song.

Actually FAQ > Help > Forum Search > Post on forum sounds more correct.

I do hope that the developers change some of the default settings in MediaMonkey to make things easier for starters.
- Turn off popup on track change
- Turn off Infer tags
- Play Now only plays selected track

Did you actually edit the properties to show the correct value instead of "hey dj play that songn"? Have you tried turning Infer Track Properties off? That option can result in some weird behavior. Otherwise you should try to create a debug log (as described in the Bug Report forum) as it ...

With MediaMonkey you can do things with scripts which are often easier than plugins. Try the Scripts and Components forum for more in this. Maybe a script exists or someone willing to write it.

I don't fully understand why this is happening so a few questions. If you select the files in the node, right click and select properties does the problem still occur (also select all songs in the album subnodes of the artist)? Do you have MediaMonkey write tag changes to the files (See options)? Do...

Just download and install, once installed you can set the options in the MediaMonkey options (Tools > Options).
