When you right click Album Art, you have a choice of Selected or Now Playing. I think there should be a third choice: Automatic. When Automatic is selected and there is a track playing, the album art for the playing track will be displayed. When no track is being played, Automatic will display the s...

I can't say whether the shuffle feature works properly in the current version of MediaMonkey. However, I started a thread where I suggested that what many people want is not a random playlist, but a distributed playlist.

I would suggest that the current behavior is not correct. By definition, the vertical line/double arrow icon appears only when you are between columns. Since you are double-clicking between columns, it's unpredictable whether MM chooses to sort by the column to left or right of the icon. MM ignores ...

Double-clicking between columns changes sort

MM 3/RC-2: If you place you cursor between column headings in the library (the node doesn't seem to matter), you get a vertical line with arrows on either side. This indicates that you can re-size the column by dragging left or right. In most Windows programs, double-clicking when this icon appears ...

Here's a method for quickly copying your month data from the Track # field to another field: 1. Click on the "Title" node. 2. Make sure the Track # column is visible. Click on the Track # column header to sort by Track #. 3. Select all of the tracks with the same Track #. (In other words, ...

If you are forced to use a text field to store a numeric value for the month, you could add a leading zero for the months before October. That way, you would be able to sort by month properly. For example, February could be stored in a text field as "02", March as "03", and so on...

I believe that behavior can be changed. Go to Tools --> Options. Click on Library and check the box for "Show obscured track properties".

If they shouldn't be below 0, what do you suggest? Sure, an unknown rating could be treated as a 0, but then it would be grouped with the "Bomb" ratings, is that an improvement? It can be ABOVE 0, because that would imply it's been rated, which it has not. An "unknown" rating is...

Version 3 of MediaMonkey is a big improvement over version 2 and each alpha of version 3 gets better and better. But, I ask the developers of MM to reconsider the way that tracks with unknown ratings are treated. Currently, tracks without a rating are treated as if they're mathematically less than a...

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it using a filter, but it didn't work for me. Here's a screen shot from my filter creation: http://www.mcpstars.org/files/ignore%201%20star%20songs.png When I activated the filter, only songs with 2 or more stars were shown. Songs with zero stars became visible onl...

"Unknown" track ratings shouldn't be < 0 stars

If you configure a filter (File --> Manage Filters) or an advanced Autoplaylist in MediaMonkey 3, tracks with an "unknown" or null rating are considered less than a track with a rating of zero. This can cause undesirable results when using filters or advanced Autoplaylists. For example, if...

ReplayGain values written to ID3v2 tags?

I am attempting to use MediaMonkey to generate ReplayGain tags for my music library which are also readable in other MP3 players. My other player can recognize ID3v2 track-based ReplayGain tags, but not APEv2 tags. I've used MediaMonkey to generate the appropriate ReplayGain values for each of my tr...
